Convert your old Android phone as a wireless CC TV!

If you are looking to install a CC TV at your home or small office, here's an inexpensive, possibly a free solution!
All you need is an old android phone that's just lying around gathering dust, a home/office WiFi network and a PC/Tablet/Laptop or another smartphone as a monitor!
You may need CC TVs for various different purposes. As a baby or kids monitor, as door video, as surveillance device in your parking lot... your need and creativity is a limit here!
Her's what I did to set up a door video CC TV!
- On my old unused android phone installed an App named IP Webcam
- Made basic configuration settings for the App (setting user name & password etc)
- Pasted my phone to the main door using brown tapes
- Started browser on my laptop and entered address stated by the App
That's all! I have my FREE door cam ready to use!!
Additional things I could do:
- Record the video feed
- Access video over WAN from any external location
- Monitor audio!
- Take snapshots / photos remotely
- Use motion sensor and activate recording only if motion is detected. (not tested)
Possibilities are endless! However, there are certain challenges:
Challenges:
- I cannot leave my phone in the hands of simple brown tapes. I need to find or create some metal casing with a lock. (Any ideas?)
- Androids are power hungry. Need to find a way of supplying continuous power to the camera phone.
