Stop whatever you are doing right now, just stop! Take a moment and thank God that you aren’t born in North Korea. Democratic people’s republic of Korea is an insane place, dictated by supreme leader Kim Jong- Un. Here are some mind boggling facts-
1. DPRK claims itself to be democratic and it does hold elections after every 5 years. Here’s a slight twist- th ballot contains only one candidate, that’s right- 100% votes for the leader.
2. North Korea is all about loyalty. In the pictures you may have noticed people crying when around the dictator or around the statues of ex-dictators. It is said that the authority has secret agents who observe the body language of people, i.e., if they are faking cry or grief, they are immediately punished for not being loyal.
3. Due to lack of resources, North Korea is forced to use human feces as fertilizer to meet the demands.
4. North Korea follows three generation punishment rule i.e., if a person is convicted, along with him/her, his/her parents, partner and kids will be sent to work camps.
5. Marijuana is legal and isn’t classified as a drug.
6. North Korea is the only country in the world which has captured US Navy’s ship.
7. An American soldier has been living in North Korea since 1962 ‘happily’. That’s what he said!
8. It’s not 2015 in North Korea, it’s 104 currently, counted after birth of Kim Il- Sung.
9. Forget about the internet, there are only three TV channels to watch. To have a computer, you must take permission from the authority. People are allowed to choose only one of these hairstyles!
10. Kim Jon- un killed his uncle in a very brutal way. He threw him naked in a cage of 120 hungry dogs. Later he killed his entire blood line.
11. Ruthless and mindless dictator also recruits young, beautiful girls in a ‘pleasure army’, meant to ‘entertain’ and give sexual services to the loyal and top officials.
12. Passports, mobile phone will be confiscated at the airport itself. You’ll be accompanied by North Korea officials throughout, who will keep an eye on you. You won’t be allowed to take pictures or talk to natives, except for those whom the guards asks you to. You are not permitted to travel anywhere you want to. Read the warning here, and you’ll be clear.
What do you think the people living there should do? Should they escape? They are not allowed to cause the entire country is guarded by military, so that people aren’t able to run away.
