Aloe vera - Uses and How to get fresh gel from it?
Aloe Vera is a humble plant with different uses. It is a multipurpose plant and is being embraced globally for its numerous uses.
Aloe Vera for skin
Aloe Vera is the ultimate ingredient in skin treatment. Aloe vera is extremely nutrient-rich: it has 18 amino acids, B vitamins 1, 2, and 6, vitamin C, niacinamide, choline and the minerals calcium, iron, lecithin, magnesium, manganese, potassium, sodium and zinc.It is a good moisturiser that supplies oxygen to skin and treats dead skin. That is whyAloe Vera is used in cosmetics like collagen creams, face wash for acne prone skin, lotions and gel products.

2. Create your own facial cleanser with aloe vera: Just mix with olive oil, rosewater, and a few drops of grapeseed oil in a food processor. Keep it in the fridge!
3. Nourish your skin: Create an organic sugar scrub (2 tbsp. aloe vera 2 tbsp. brown sugar 1 tsp. lemon juice) and apply to damp skin:
4. Try a salt scrub (2 cups sea salt 1 cup aloe vera 1 cup baby oil 2 tbsp. honey) for rough patches:
5. For scars and stretch marks: Aloe vera speeds cell regeneration, so rub it on scars and stretch marks to watch them fade more quickly.
6. For those with eczema or psoriasis, aloe is possibly the best moisturizer available. Rub all over hands and feet, put on gloves and socks and let it work its magic
7. Tighten your pores: Aloe has properties similar to astringents, so rubbing it on your face can reduce the appearance of enlarged pores.
Aloe Vera has a combination of keratin, Vitamin E and panthenol. Aloe Vera strengthens the cells of your scalp and adds protein to hair.
Grow your own Aloe Vera
1. Speed hair growth: Massage aloe vera into the scalp, leave in for 30 minutes and rinse. Aloe Vera is known to balance PH and stimulate the production of enzymes on your scalp which help with hair growth.
2. Run out of conditioner? Use aloe vera instead! Your hair will be silkier than ever – just make sure to rinse well.
3. Mix aloe vera into powdered hair dye before dyeing hair to help fight off moisture loss from drying chemicals.
The best way to get the most out of Aloe Vera is to grow your own. Simply buy a stem and plant it in a pot of mud. Water it daily and watch your very own Aloe Vera grow right in front of your eyes. Remember, the plant grows best in sub tropical climates.
How to get the gel from Aloe Vera Plant?
Begin by selecting a large, healthy outer leaf that's close to the ground. These are the oldest and most potent. (If none of the leaves are close to the ground, the plant may be too immature to harvest.) Cut close to the base of the plant at a slight angle.
Stand your leaf upright in a slightly tilted container for roughly 10 minutes. This allows much of the sap to drain out. You may not see the sap in smaller leaves.
Lay the leaf down flat on a cutting board. Carefully use a sharp knife to cut off the leaf's tip and its serrated edges all the way down both sides. Slice the inside of the leaf lengthwise so that the front and back can be separated.
Use a spoon to scoop out the mucilage (the slimy stuff) and the gel (the clear, solid "fillet"). Press down firmly, but lightly. Too much force may scrape out sap, which you want to avoid.
